About the event
The Women Supporting Women Club has selected powerful artworks from the SVA community, to celebrate Women’s History Month.
This exhibition will be used to support the premise that art created by women deserves to be recognized and valued on its merit. As it concerns Women’s History Month, this exhibition recognizes that gender-based inequality in the arts has a much larger historical societal context. We want to ensure that the SVA community serves a platform that is dedicated to advocating, supporting and celebrating the work of women students, faculty, and staff.
International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month reminds us that there still needs to be more space for women in every walk of life. This special month reinforces a belief that values greater recognition and respect for women’s diversity, for their past, present, and future. Our Club has created a space that highlights talented artists at SVA and showcases artworks by women, non-binary, and women-identified transgender visual artists. This exhibition will run through March 29 aligning with Women’s History Month and will be up until May 6, the end of the semester.

The exhibition opening reception will be held on Friday, March 29, 3.00pm – 6.00pm. For this big day, we are thrilled to announce our collaboration with the ISO, which will be providing a delightful array of international cuisine including Indian, Peruvian, Turkish, and Italian food.
Additionally, DEI is sponsoring talented Pilar Vera, a Peruvian singer who will grace us with live music, showcasing the richness of Peruvian culture and its origins. Inspire others to come and visit. Join our deep-felt excitement about this unique opportunity. Be a part of our beginning!
